More streamlined quantity takeoff: Work with Wikells building components directly in Geometra

For some time now, it has been possible to export quantities from Geometra directly to Wikells Sektionsdata. We’re now introducing a new feature that lets you use Wikells building components directly within your rows in Geometra.

These components consist of Wikells’ extensive database of material types, which are now searchable and easy to apply directly to your rows. You can add them as resources to your objects, and when exporting from Geometra, the rows are automatically matched with the correct building component in Wikells Sektionsdata. The calculation of material consumption, time, and cost is done in Sektionsdata.

How does it work?

Turn on Wikells Sektionsdata under Settings / General / Calculation Tools:

How to use Wikells building components in Geometra

1. Start by measuring your drawing.

2. Select the measurements you want to use in your rows (click and select in the calculation tree).

3. Click the "Add new row" field above your rows.

4. Now you can choose from Wikells’ library of material types. You can also search by typing.

5. Click the row you want to insert and press Enter.

6. When you’re done, it’s time to export your rows. Select what you want to export in the calculation tree. If you want to export everything, use Ctrl+A. Also check the corresponding rows.

7. Go to “Export” and choose your export option. In our example, select Special exports – Wikells Sektionsdata.

How to import your quantities into Sektionsdata and continue calculating

1. Go to File

2. Click Import and select “Geometra”.

3. Locate your export file and click Open.

4. Now your quantities from Geometra are imported into the calculation with the correct building components.
