How to Export Quantities from Geometra to Excel
Exporting quantities and calculation data from Geometra is an easy way to streamline your estimating work and gain full control over your data. You can choose to export the entire file or make a selection, then transfer it to Excel, Google Sheets, or other software for further processing. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process — from selecting your export type to adjusting export settings.
Why Export to Excel?
Many users want to:
• Summarise and filter quantities and calculation items in familiar tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.
• Combine data from several projects or drawings to get the full picture.
• Create custom reports, adjust formatting, or combine data with other estimates.
• Geometra offers several export options that make it easy to extract the right data and continue working with it in other programs.
1. Choose Where to Export From
In Geometra, export options are available in two areas of the application:
Drive: Here you can quickly export all data from previewed files without making a selection.
Estimate: Here you can choose folders and calculation rows and select which items to export.
2. Choose the Type of Export
The most common export types are:
Clipboard: Exports data directly to the clipboard, ready to paste into Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software.
CSV file: Exports data to a comma-separated (.csv) file. Note that the delimiter (comma or semicolon) may vary depending on your language or operating system.
3. Choose from Preset Export Options
• Folder export: Summary of all measurements per folder
• Objects: Detailed information about each measurement (all values)
• Objects – net values: Same as above but exports only net values
• Objects no folders: All measurements without your folder structure
• Rows: All rows present in each measurement. A detailed export. Information about each object.
• Rows Sum: All identical rows are summarized in this export. This is one of the most common export options.
• Rows Sum per folder: Summation per folder level. A subtotal according to your structure.
4. Open and Process in Excel / Google Sheets
Once the file/export is complete, you can open it in Excel or another spreadsheet application.
If you’re using the CSV format, make sure the delimiter is correct (comma or semicolon), depending on your language or system settings.
