Linking Objects
When working with 3D objects from models in Geometra there are two options on how to connect it to your estimate. Geometra doesn’t import the entire model, instead you choose which parts of a model you wish to add to your estimate.
Link Object
Linking and object as a standard “Object” will add it to your estimate as a raw model meaning it can be counted in terms of quantity and its default values are applied for you to view and read in the properties pane.
Link Normalised Object
Normalising an object when linking will allow you to gather segments and parts of a single model object to be used for your Rows. Normalising a model calculates every aspect of the part and returns the values: Area, Volume, Sides, Side Circumference and Edges. These are all assigned variables and you can use them in the Amount field when adding rows.
